What We Collect

Server logs: Our web server records standard access logs, which include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, and the browser string your device sends. These are retained by our hosting provider as part of normal server operations. We don't process or analyze these logs to track individual users.

First-party analytics: We run a small analytics script of our own, served from this domain. On each page load it sends the page path, the referring URL, the previous page in your session and any UTM parameters in the address bar to our own endpoint at /report/csp. It also fires when you click a link out to a site we review. The IP address that arrives with that request is hashed with a salt that changes daily, so sessions cannot be linked across days. No third-party analytics platform is involved: no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels, no retargeting scripts.

Safety Checker: The Safety Checker tool runs entirely in your browser. When you enter a domain, the lookup happens client-side against a dataset that's downloaded once with the page. No request is sent back to our server with the domain you typed. We have no record of what sites you've checked.

No accounts: We don't offer registration or login. There's nothing to collect because there's no sign-up flow, no comment system, no saved favorites. The less data held, the less that can be compromised, which is the point of this site in the first place.

Cookies

We set one cookie, _spsr. It holds a randomly generated session token that groups your page views into a single visit, and it expires after 40 minutes of inactivity. The token is a random string: no name, no email, nothing that points back to you. It is first-party and self-hosted, and it is never used for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking.

That is the only cookie this site writes. Block or delete it in your browser and every page, including the Safety Checker, keeps working exactly as before.

Affiliate Links

When you click a "Visit Safely" button or any other affiliate link, you leave SafePornExpert and arrive at the destination site under that site's own privacy policy. We receive a referral commission if you sign up. We do not receive any personal data about you from the destination site. The affiliate tracking is handled entirely by the destination's affiliate program, we just pass a referral ID in the URL.

Affiliate relationships don't influence safety scores. A site can pay us commissions and still score poorly if it fails our checks. Safety scores are based on independent testing, not commercial relationships.

Third Parties

We load fonts from Google Fonts and Tailwind CSS from a CDN. Those third-party servers see your IP address when your browser fetches those resources. We load no ad networks, no embedded social widgets, no retargeting scripts. Hosting is on a VPS provider that processes standard server logs per its own terms.

Your Rights (GDPR, UK, CCPA)

Under GDPR and similar regulations you have the right to know what personal data we hold. The honest answer is: none, beyond what a web server logs by default. We don't build profiles, don't link your visits across sessions, and don't sell data. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@safepornexpert.com. For CCPA: we do not sell personal information.

This site is intended for adults 18 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle data (for example, if we add an analytics platform), we'll update this page and change the date at the top. We won't silently add tracking. Contact: privacy@safepornexpert.com.
